What’s your motivation to learn Brazilian Portuguese? Are you planning a trip to Brazil? Are you in a relationship with a Brazilian and would like to be able to communicate better with your partner and his/her relatives? Are you just in love with Brazilian culture and thought it would be great to have Brazilian Portuguese as a second (third?) language?
Having a good motivation is the starting point, but most people who feel excited about learning in the beginning, end up stopping at some point, feeling lost and frustrated. How to fix it?
I’m Andressa Maia, from Rio de Janeiro, a mother of two girls and two cats, Muay Thai practitioner, chocolate lover, a building technician with a degree in English and Portuguese and passionate about helping people find their way to learn a new language!
As a Portuguese student, you might know me from Falando Nisso com Andressa on YouTube, where I’ve been sharing tips about Brazilian Portuguese since 2017, the year when my journey as a language teacher started.
In my experience over these years I’ve learned some of the main things that cause students to not improve, get frustrated and give up in the middle of their learning process, so my biggest passion nowadays is to keep my students motivated by helping them to find their own way of learning!
Each person is unique and there is no magic formula to become fluent! Being constant is key, but each person might develop better with a different approach, that’s why – besides private lessons – I also offer a mentorship program!
Would you like to learn more about how I can help you achieve your goals? Let’s have a chat! I’m excited to get to know you and be part of your learning journey!
